In the age when political and social polarization with followed fragmentation in societies becomes a growing concern globally the issue of social cohesion and solidarity considered as an essential basis and ‘building block’ for democratic societies gains significant attention for scholars of different fields. What are the main sociocultural parameters responsible in fostering social cohesion in todays societies? How the sense of belonging and connectedness are produced in different socio-political settings? What is the particularity of the capital, urban and rural settings in providing different levels of social cohesion?
These are questions scholars from different field will discuss broadly and share their expertise at the conference. This unique opportunity will allow them not only share their research experience but also to discuss the challenges, limitations as well as possibilities for the further research.
